My research involved observation techniques, task analysis, user interviews, and surveys to determine how users think and behave based on their needs and motivations. I could derive statistics and metrics from the quantitative data that I collected. Additionally, I gathered qualitative insights about users through contextual observation, usability tests, and interviews. My evaluation of HeritAge’s digital product combines two methodologies: quantitative data and qualitative information, which I combine to assess how users feel, think, and use it. By combining these two approaches, I was able to understand the usefulness, credibility, value, desirability, findability, usability, and accessibility holistically of the project. A survey of 18 people was used to extract metrics and apply them to the business. I used closed and open questions. Google Docs / Forms was used to write and share the document. Bellow, I presented my findings for this research phase.
I opted for a mix of quantitative and qualitative data and insights. I believe in the strong connection that both of the methods have between them. They blend well together giving the research a strong base for future endeavours and scaling of the business. It revealed to me that 83% of the participants were happy to have an app that gives them suggestions in different areas of life. If there is a need, there is a necessity, if there is a necessity there is a market for it.
The evaluation found that 83% wanted a social platform of this type, they gave a deeper understanding of the categories that they are interested in and where they take this information in the present time.
People find it hard to filter news today. With the development of technology, the need to retain and use the right information is growing bigger and bigger. There is a huge debate about how to spot fake influencers and how to propose better policies to counteract these false promises and suggestions. “Age” is a turning point to take into account. Users want to trust one another and the business they are interacting with. they can spot this in the public on that social platform. HeritAge is coming to help and fill the gap by providing a tool that can empower users in filtering the abundance of data.
I used the technique of 90% image and 10% text. The question was addressed as an open question in which I let the user think aloud about his present and future actions. The image was presented to the user in front of a machine. He was asked to imagine the cursor of the mouse and where he would place it to do a task. 90% of users quickly found the “Write a Suggestion” button. They weren’t frustrated about the flow and they didn’t encounter any blockers during the test. Their curiosity landed on the gamification part and registration section.
